Why I Wasn’t Sending Text Messages

Are You Being Flooded With Political Text Messages? We Want to See Them. Too Many and Too Often.

We’ve all been there. You’re sitting in the meeting with a large group of people after a conference or a meeting. You’re enjoying the meeting, listening to what others are saying about a variety of subjects. Suddenly, out of the corner of your eye, you see text messages popping up on your screen. You’re left wondering, “Where did all these messages go? Who sent them, and why are they popping up on my screen?”

When I was a member of Congress, I took to the airwaves to deliver my constituents’ messages through text message. They said the text messages were being sent to them by staffers, but I assured them I wasn’t sending them. I’m not sure if they were convinced or not, but I was. It didn’t matter.
