Fashion house Balenciaga cuts ties with Kanye West over dress code controversy
Kanye West has canceled a fashion show in response to the company canceling a show in Italy due to his controversial dress code.
The fashion brand Balenciaga has announced that it is pulling out of an upcoming fashion show in Milan, Italy. The fashion show was to be hosted by West, who was scheduled to be in attendance. The company released a statement, following backlash from West and other fans, stating that they cancelled the show “in light of recent events.”
In a series of tweets, West said, “#Balenciaga is going to pull out of the Milan Fashion Week show because of my recent comments. They also canceled my performance at the Prudential Center and my performance on Saturday Night Live!”
The company’s statement read, “Balenciaga has decided to cancel its upcoming fashion show in Milan as a result of recent events involving West and the Balenciaga Fashion & Accessories Society. The show is also being considered canceled at other upcoming events around the world in Europe and the U.S.
This is the first time Balenciaga has had to cancel a fashion show in almost four years. The designer has not commented on their decision.”

Fashion industry, as a whole can be a crazy industry. It’s not the people that are crazy, it’s the people behind the madness. Look at these fashion houses, they are all over each other. Why do you have to be on the same side of the spectrum of being against an artist? It’s just dumb.
The whole Kanye West thing is kinda odd, a lot of people don’t really like him. I think the show/show host choice was questionable to begin with, but Kanye isn’t really someone to blame for it.
